今日はYouTubeのコミュニティポストタブにShioriが投稿していた英文の中で使ってみたくなった表現を使う。

つまり、断るための口実を作るという嘘が、まるで罪深いこと、重罪なことみたいな重い雰囲気になるってことだろう。
相手に嫌な思いをさせないために嘘をついて断るって文脈だからそこまで悪いことじゃないので、caughtはちょっと合わないんだね。
基本的にbe caaughtってのはcommitting a crime, cheating on a test, or stealingみたいなことに対してこれらをしたことがばれるっていうときに使う。
嘘をつく程度でbe caughtを使うのは重すぎる。
