YouTubeコメント欄はカジュアルな英語の宝の山。
ということで、今日のShiori & Nerissaという最高の2人によるオフコラボ配信のコメント欄で見つけた英語を使って英作した。
今日特に使いたかったのは、”feed off of”と”so doubly”。
“feed off of“

The meaning is very clear
“Feed off of” is correct and shows how their ideas build on each other.
“Bounce off each other” is the most common way to describe people having a smooth, quick, and lively conversation (like a ball bouncing back and forth).
こういう時(会話が弾んでいる様子を表したいとき)はBounce off each otherが一番よくつかわれるらしいけど、feed off ofにすることで「お互いの発言が次の話題の種や燃料になり、次々と話題が生まれる」ニュアンスになる。
素敵だと思ったのでfeed off ofはそのまま使う。
bring up new topics one after another
“keep the conversation flowing”が次から次へと話題が出てくる様子を自然でかつ口語的に表す。
bring up new topics one after anotherでも問題なく通じる。ただ、少し書き言葉、説明的に聞こえるらしい。

“great” を加えて”What great talking skills!”にすることで、感嘆の度合いがより明確になる。これは分かる。確かにそう思う。
ただ、考えすぎかもしれないけど、greatだとほんの少し彼女たちのトークスキルの高さを評価しているニュアンスがある気がして、ちょっと自分には合わないと思ったので、
シンプルにI want their talking skillsに変更した。
Doubly soを使いたくなったので途中で追加
doubly so when it comes to 1-hour talking stream.を入れてShioRavenのトークスキルの高さを際立たせた。

YouTubeコメントはほんとにおもしろい表現の宝庫だから、余裕があったら確認した方がいい。
動画は、主にカジュアルな話し言葉の表現を多くインプットできる。でもそれがSNSとかの書き言葉でもカジュアルに使えるとは限らない。
だから、SNSとかネットとか友達同士のカジュアルなチャットのやり取りのスキルを磨くならYouTubeコメント欄がマジでいい。Xもめっちゃいい。
今日はShioRavenとBloodRavenを両方観れたので最高の日である。
